Let's get you set for success when coming on campus!

Preparing Prior to Day 1

In order to prepare yourself to come on campus, we have a few basic requirements and suggestions for you. Please find, gather, and print the following items, as appropriate:

  1. Federal I-9 Conforming IDs (x2): You are required to bring two (2) Federal 1-9 conforming IDs with you to affirm your identity, both with the Badging Office and Human Resources (HR). One of these IDs must be a conforming photo ID. For details on what IDs are allowed, please visit the US Citizenship and Immigration Services page.
  2. A Laptop. You are welcome to bring your personal or government issued laptop to access the NEO portal and forms. Public (government owned) Wi-Fi will be available upon arrival.
  3. Provisions: Navy Exchange Micro Mart and Java Jolts Café are available in campus.
  4. You can bring your water, caffeine, snacks, or other provisions needed to keep yourself well hydrated and energetic.
  5. There is a water station available to refill your water bottles.

Arriving on Campus

 
Plan to arrive at the NIWC Pacific Building A-33 no later than 0730.
 
**IMPORTANT: You may have to plan to come in early on Day 1 to get the required pass to enter NIWC Pacific.**
 

Please use the following guide to ensure you have adequate time to come to the campus, receive your temporary badge, verify your identity for employment, and transition to our New Employee Orientation by 0730.

 
Your to do list:
  1. If you are experiencing any symptoms, please do not come to the campus and contact your Supervisor and NEO Coordinators at niwc_pac_neo@us.navy.mil to set up alternate accommodations.
  2. Once you arrive at the the Point Loma campus, proceed to the NIWC Pacific Visitor Center and Badge Office (49275 Electron Dr, San Diego, CA 92152) to receive your NIWC Pacific badge and 30-day DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) pass. Badge and Decal Phone numbers: (619) 553- 3203 or (619) 553-3206.
  3. Upon receipt of your badge, please move your vehicle from the Visitor Center and Badging Office parking lot and park inside the Campus. Remember to take your IDs and provisions with you!
  4. You will need to display your NIWC Badge at all times while inside any NIWC Pacific Buildings.
  5. Please review HR reporting instruction email for possible real-time changes to instructions above. For additional reporting questions, please contact your HR POC.

Prior to New Employee Orientation, HR will confirm your identity, using your Federal I-9 conforming IDs. Upon confirmation of your identity, HR personnel will guide you to the New Employee Orientation facility. Please note: If you are unable to provide adequate proof of identity, alternative arrangements may be required.
