Indo-Pacific

The Indo-Pacific Department provides the forward presence in the Indo-Pacific region to research, innovate, engineer, integrate, and sustain Information Warfare capabilities for Naval, Joint, and Coalition forces.

We are a team of 500+ military and civilians with locations in Hawaii, Japan, and Guam.

The department provides engineering, installation, testing, and evaluation for Information Warfare by deploying communications and information technologies aboard ships, submarines, and shore facilities, including major military construction projects. Over 100 embedded employees provide engineering and operations support to U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and over 15 other military commands in the Asia-Pacific region. The department is recognized for leading coalition communications, C5I military construction, micro and nano-electronics, Big Data, cybersecurity, augmented and virtual reality, integrated physical and electronic security, and field experimentation and prototyping.

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics program supports the University of Hawaii system, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, veterans, and the Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy for educational outreach. The department's greatest strength is the 500+ dedicated professionals who understand the warfighter and continue to provide invaluable technical support and deliver innovative technologies to its diverse customers.

The department trains, educates, mentors, and partners with DoD organizations and industry in developing a capable technical Information Warfare workforce to meet current and emerging Navy, Joint, and Coalition needs. Technical engineers and technicians plan, coordinate, install, and test systems on ships, submarines, and ashore sites. Embedded personnel working in the warfighter commands provide valuable insight into the warfighter's mission operations and help troubleshoot and maintain the C4ISR systems and networks for the warfighter.
